Seasgair
‘Seasgair’ by Michel Roux Jr
We are incredibly excited to share that the dining experience at the Castle has been transformed into something truly unique, that’s sure to surprise and delight. Overseen by two Michelin star chef Michel Roux Jr and presented by our wonderful head chef, to dine with us is to be transported back to the true essence of Inverlochy Castle, to experience it how guests would have when the Castle was a private home.
Dinner will commence at 7pm, where a glass of Champagne or a custom-designed cocktail will be waiting on arrival. The evening begins in the Great Hall, where our chefs will prepare and present a carefully chosen variety of canapes, before you make your way to the warm and comfortable dining rooms to enjoy five dishes artfully devised by our chef. The small, local producers that neighbour us will feature prominently across the menu; some of which are not available anywhere else!
We have named the experience ‘Seasgair by Michel Roux Jr’, which is Gaelic for warm, cosy and comfortable – exactly how we want you to feel. It signals a return to how guests dined at Inverlochy Castle when it was owned by Mrs Hobbs, and her vivacious cook Mary Shaw would create a menu showcasing the best seasonal produce each night for the family and guests to enjoy in the dining rooms. We very much want you to feel like you’re being welcomed into our home.
While the menu will change with what’s available that day, a taste of what to expect includes wild boar charcuterie made just seven miles from the Castle, Highland venison wellington served to share or a platter of Scottish oysters - a true seafood extravaganza. Each course is a new discovery of presentation and flavour, such is the magic of the experience.
Our goal is to make you feel as comfortable as if you’re visiting an old friend, and the chefs will be visible throughout the evening.
As well as individual tables in our dining room, there will also be an extra-special option to join Mary Shaw’s Table, an impeccably designed large wooden table nestled within our Library. Here, you can meet and dine with other guests while you savour each dish.
There’s also an option to enjoy expertly paired wines hand selected by our world-renowned sommelier to seamlessly compliment each course.
If you have any adverse allergens or dietary requirements, please make us aware prior to arrival and we’ll create you a menu that’s treated with the same respect. We would be happy to cater for your dietary needs, however, we cannot guarantee absolute separation of allergens and cannot take responsibility for any adverse reaction which may occur.
Seasgair by Michel Roux Jr. is priced at £145pp, which includes freshly prepared canapes, a wonderfully presented 5-course set menu using the finest quality ingredients, petit fours with tea and coffee, and a custom welcome drink created by our sommelier.
For the dining experience to be truly memorable, it requires our kitchen’s full attention. There will be only one sitting per evening and it will be the only dining option available after 6/6.30pm, including room service.
